The community we called Mi-Csoda Kozosseg, stayed together for four years exactly, and dissolved mid-summer last year. I moved in to a flat located in a block of houses in Pannoniatelep area of Szentendre with my girlfriend. This setup is complete with an allotment 5 miles from Pannoniatelep I have been working on for around four years now. This was an inheritance of an aquintance of mine, who did not want to do anything with it that time.
The pandemic was somewhat unexpected but somewhat expected. A few friends with visionary talent foresaw something, maybe not exactly this, as a catastrophe hanging over the human civilization.
This quiet and mostly sunny location was our peaceful harborage. We used Embio to improve the degraded soil, weeds were controlled in a gentle method of soil cover. We saw enough seeds to keep us busy in the whole year with a rich harvest. The last vegetables still on the field waiting for the harvest are beetroot, jerusalem artichoke and honeynut squash. Wallnuts were destroyed by a certain fly that is invading whole Hungary. The medlar/naseberry tree is growing slowly, having cleared its area might bring sweet fruits for us this winter.
A few more pictures and a video were put on my storage a while back. Once found, I shall post them here.
The owner payed a surprise visit at the allotment this summer, clearcutting the grass near the entrance. He is planning to take the area back. Changed his mind, he let us stay until the end of next year. My girlfriend and I are looking for a house with a proper garden, not just an allotment. In this covid frighten world it might be possible to swap/move out to a location not too far from Szentendre, I hope.
One step a time, living in a block of houses and preparing to move to a house with a garden. Maybe with friends, maybe creating a community. Everything was and is possible, depending on us.
